On March 1-2, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase Averia smart collar at the Long Island Pet Expo, marking our first-ever experience as a vendor at an expo. Attending an event like this was the perfect way to engage directly with customers, educate them on our product, and explore exciting partnership opportunities.
Engaging with Pet Owners and Partners
One of the highlights of the expo was meeting a diverse group of pet owners all eager to learn about the Averia GPS dog collar and activity tracker. We spent time explaining how the collar works, its real-time tracking capabilities, durability, features, and how it stands apart from our competitors. We also connected with a multitude of participating vendors including professional trainers, breeders, dog walkers, sitters, rescues, and shelters to explore potential partnerships.
Find Simba Contest
Beyond business development and networking, we also ran a fun and interactive contest showcasing our real-time pet tracking technology. A few times a day, we staged a scenario where our co-founder's dog, Simba, would get “lost” (don’t worry—he was safe the entire time!). Participants had to use the Averia Collar app to track Simba’s location.
To win an Averia Collar, participants had to:
- Follow us on Instagram
- Take a selfie with Simba
- Tag @weareaveria in their post
The contest was a huge hit! Participants used our Radar feature to more easily track Simba’s exact location, making the search even more interactive. This hands-on experience helped pet owners see firsthand how our GPS collar works, making it one of the most engaging activities at the expo. Those who completed the challenge walked away with a free collar!
